Während der Internationalen Gospelwoche habt ihr natürlich auch etwas Zeit die Umgebung zu erkunden. Plauen hat viele schöne Läden, eine tolle Altstadt mit Cafés und liegt in einer wunderschönen hügeligen grünen Landschaft die zum Wandern einlädt.  

Habt ihr gewusst, dass die friedliche Revolution welche zur Wiedervereinigung Deutschlands führte in Plauen begann? Am 7.Oktober 1989 gingen die Plauener auf die Straße und starteten die erste Massendemonstration gegen das Regime. Auf den Treppen der Lutherkirche, in der wir auch unser Konzert Haben werden, standen hunderte brennender Kerzen als Zeichen des Friedens und des Miteinander. Noch heute werden am 7.Oktober dort Kerzen aufgestellt. Etwas weiter unterhalb der Kirche wurde ein Wendedenkmal errichtet, in Form einer Kerze. Schaut es euch an, wenn ihr da seid.

During the International Gospel Week you will also have some time to explore the area. Plauen has many nice shops, a great old town with cafes and is located in a beautiful hilly green landscape that invites you to go hiking.

Did you know that the peaceful revolution that led to the reunification of Germany began in Plauen? On October 7, 1989, the people of Plauen took to the streets and started the first mass demonstration against the regime. On the stairs of the Luther Church, where we will also have our concert, there were hundreds of burning candles as a sign of peace and togetherness. Candles are still being placed there on October 7th. A little further below the church a  "Wendedenkmal" was erected in the form of a candle. Check it out when you're there.

Auch rund um Plauen könnt ihr tolle Sachen machen. So gibt es im Vogtland zum Beispiel mit der Götzschtalbrücke die größte Ziegelbrücke der Welt. Es ist wirklich atemberaubend wenn man davor steht.

Oder ihr könnt in das nahe gelegene Tschechien fahren, euch die Kurorte Franzensbad und Karlsbad ansehen und leckere böhmische Knödel essen.

Wenn ihr eher Lust auf Spa und Entspannung habt, besucht die Badegärten Eibenstock, es gibt neben den Bädern einen riesigen Saunabereich mit verschiedensten Saunen, wunderschönen Außenbereichen und eine Bar mit leckeren Cocktails.

You can also do great things around Plauen. Nearby, for example, there is the "Götzschtalbrücke", the largest brick bridge in the world. It's really breathtaking when you stand in front of it.

Or you can go to the nearby Czech Republic, visit the beautiful towns of Franzensbad and Karlsbad and eat delicious Bohemian dumplings.

If you are more in the mood for spa and relaxation, visit the Eibenstock bathing gardens. In addition to the pools, there is a huge sauna area with different saunas, a wonderful outdoor area and a bar with delicious cocktails.
